Pete Davidson Is Dressing Like an Adult Now

Pete Davidson has been embracing a quieter, more minimalist lifestyle lately — and it’s showing up in both his appearance and his wardrobe. After years of collecting wild tattoos and wearing some truly chaotic outfits, the comedian has been scaling things back. (Though between tattoo removal and cleaning out his closet, we’re guessing one process hurt a bit more than the other.)

On Sunday, Pete showed off his new, more polished style at Madison Square Garden. He and his new girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt, attended the New York Knicks game against the Phoenix Suns. Known in the past for custom Uggs and flashy Transformers tracksuits, Pete kept it simple this time: he wore a boxy, ’90s-style Schott leather jacket over a “Knicks Essentials” hoodie (from the team’s collaboration with Fear of God), vintage Levi’s jeans, and Dr. Martens Chelsea boots.

Elsie matched the vibe perfectly, wearing a Sopranos-themed letterman jacket and her own pair of Docs.

“I’m trying to be an adult,” Pete recently told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, talking about removing his tattoos — but it’s clear the mindset goes beyond just his skin. At 31, he’s trading in loud outfits for more classic pieces, like leather jackets and clean denim.

Of course, we wouldn’t be surprised if Pete still has a few pairs of his favorite orthopedic Velcro sneakers stashed away somewhere. But now, even those could fit into his more grown-up, slightly more refined look.
